the National party fails us yet again

So Maureen Pugh wants to see “more proof” before she will believe that humans are causing climate change.

I was shocked. Stunned. Horrified. I was weak… My defences were down… this was such an appalling slap in the face to everyone hurt by the recent tragedies.

Immediately following this announcement Newshub cut to a sequence of other National mps declaring that of course climate change is real, and frightening. I was so relieved, my poor bruised mind said Thank God. Even the National party can get some things right. I even felt a momentary affection for Erica Stanford…

Half an hour’s thought showed me the error of my ways and returned me to the full and utter contempt I must feel for the National party. True, nobody else agreed with the idiot’s opinions. However, nobody called for her immediate sacking either. Ignorance is dangerous, and Christopher Luxon’s idea of giving this woman a reading list of the things he’s read is woefully inadequate. Fire her now. I even have to disagree with the great Patrick Gower on this one. Sorry Paddy, we don’t have time to “let Maureen be Maureen”. I don’t care if she’s a good person. I don’t care if she’s a bloody saint. The climate clock is ticking and we are losing, fast.

$h*! MY dad says

this will be a growing list and i can’t take any credit for it. my dad literally said all of it. this sort of stuff is why i’m so smart.

  1. what the hell is the point of panic buying? if there’s no flood or damage you’ve achieved nothing. if there is, the first thing that goes out is the power. add in the contaminated flood waters and none of that food you’ve hoarded is edible.
  2. Jacinda Ardern’s star power was her downfall. the more remarkable you are, the more insane vitriol you attract.
  3. how can refugees from war-torn hell-holes complain about their housing standards here? they’ve literally escaped from bombs raining down on their heads but what we’ve provided is inadequate? insanely ungrateful.
